Leadership Alternatives
While searching for an executive role at a small startup, Bryan Snyder relied on career ownership coaching to discover a new path to achieving his leadership goals.
Snyder was working at The Pro’s Closet to streamline their operations when he was contacted by Jeff Weidauer, a Career Ownership Coach™ with The Entrepreneur’s Source®, the nation’s leading career coaching franchise. During his brief tenure at the high-end bicycle refurbisher, Snyder directed an operations team of six leaders and 49 remanufacturing line experts. He increased internal quality by 36 percent and added more than $1 million in revenue. Despite successful efforts, Snyder was still feeling battered and bruised from his long career in the corporate world. He spent more than 20 years in executive-level roles at large corporations before testing the waters of a startup opportunity.
“A lot of my experience with large companies was fairly rough when it came to navigating office politics. At some point, I realized I wanted to have more control over my day-to-day work,” Snyder said. “I decided to pursue a position at a startup but was still looking for another opportunity when I got the call from The Entrepreneur’s Source®.”
TES helps people suffering from Battered Career Syndrome® discover a new path. People are losing confidence in corporate America as they face little job security and a lack of upward mobility. TES coaches help people determine their goals, needs and expectations and hold them accountable to their vision at no cost. Regardless of experience level or skill set, it’s never too late to consider a career transition.
Weidauer started helping people discover new possibilities when he launched his coaching business in 2020. After spending his career as a marketing leader for large supermarket chains, Weidauer decided to put his skills to work, helping people explore the possibilities of a different future.
“During my corporate career, I mentored and worked with a tremendous number of people and trained as a leadership trainer,” Weidauer said. “I enjoy helping people who, like me, are considering new opportunities. Now I get to give a hand up to people.”
TES works with people navigating a career transition by helping them determine their Income, Lifestyle, Wealth and Equity™ goals. Understanding your goals is key to reaching self-sufficiency and financial freedom. A Career Ownership Coach™ helps their clients determine whether they want to stay on the job market and find another corporate job, open a business or invest in a franchise.
Franchising is not just fast food, coffee shops and big-box gyms. Industry experts predict the number of franchises in the United States will reach 780,188 by year-end. Franchising in the United States spans countless industries and features a wide variety of investment opportunities, including some as low as $15,000. Franchising allows business owners to control their destiny and achieve the American dream with a proven system and ongoing training and support.
After taking a deep dive into his goals, Snyder quickly realized opening a franchise would allow him to achieve financial freedom and work-life balance. He was considering a number of options when he discovered the opportunity to purchase an existing The Alternative Board franchise in his local area. Through peer advisory boards and small group coaching, The Alternative Board provides business mentorship to small business owners to help them overcome obstacles and seize new opportunities. The franchise enabled Snyder to use skills honed over years in the corporate world to help small businesses thrive.
“The Alternative Board hit home. His role at his new business is designed to help other people solve problems and engage with businesses in a way that feels meaningful. He liked the idea of solving problems and helping businesses create something useful,” Weidauer said.
Snyder relies on his past experience and weekly webinars from The Alternative Board to help propel his business. The Alternative Board offers webinars three times a week to provide guidance and advice. The previous owner of his franchise also provides assistance and support to help Snyder’s endeavor flourish.
