Double the Guidance from a Career Ownership Coach

A successful entrepreneur turned to career coaching with The Entrepreneur’s Source® twice to branch out into new industries.

Exploring New Options
Ken Papile’s illustrious career in the fashion industry as the owner of Brand Strategy, a wholesale clothing distributor, spanned nearly two decades. Yet, beneath his success lay an entrepreneurial spirit, restless and eager for new challenges. After hearing about a friend’s experience with career coaching, Ken turned to Carolyn Tormey, a Career Ownership Coach™ with The Entrepreneur’s Source, not once, but twice over a span of three years, each time seeking a fresh business opportunity to explore.

“After a long career in the fashion industry, I got to the point where I was ready to do something different. I’m always looking at different companies and businesses,” said Ken. “A friend of mine did career coaching with Carolyn, and it sounded interesting.”

Coaches for The Entrepreneur’s Source use education-based tools to help people explore their options, possibilities, and dreams to reach a point of clarity about their future. Our coaches strive to create a safe, welcoming environment for people to discover enough about themselves to make an informed decision about their professional future at no cost. Ken worked with Carolyn to identify his Income, Lifestyle, Wealth, and Equity™ goals and find a business opportunity aligned with his vision.

From Real Estate to Equipment Rental
The pair’s first collaboration enabled Ken to debut a business in real estate with HomeVestors. Dallas-based HomeVestors is the largest professional house-buying franchise in the United States, with more than 140,000 houses bought since 1996. HomeVestors owners specialize in building businesses based on buying, rehabbing, selling, and holding residential properties. He hit the ground running and successfully established himself in two territories in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. A few years later, after his HomeVestors business was well-established, the itch to expand and diversify beckoned. Without hesitation, he turned again to the trusted guidance of Carolyn.

“Carolyn is great. I wouldn’t have gone back a second time if she wasn’t. She’s extremely professional, and she’s got a great attitude. She genuinely cares about what I want and what is the best fit for me,” Ken said.

Carolyn got her start in career coaching 12 years ago after a break from the workforce to take care of her family in Connecticut. She was ready to resume her career but was reluctant to take a new corporate role with long hours and a lack of flexibility. Coaching allowed her to use her mentoring skills and offered her the work-life balance she craved.

“Owning a coaching business checked all of my boxes,” Carolyn said. “The Entrepreneur’s Source is a proven business model that allows me to use all my transferable skills. I work with clients all over the country.”

Revisiting the coaching process, Carolyn meticulously reassessed Ken’s evolving goals and aspirations. With her knowledge of various small businesses and a knack for identifying lucrative opportunities, she introduced Ken to Temporary Wall Systems. The brand’s rentable wall containment system provides a modern, clean, and secure modular system that is airtight and cost-effective for individual project budgets.

Temporary Wall Systems’ B2B model and consistent demand across sectors resonated with Ken. The prospect of building a venture that offered both stability and growth was too enticing to pass up. He signed a deal for three territories in New Jersey and opened his doors in September.
