Terry Powell and The Entrepreneur’s Source Tips for Matching Franchisors with Ideal Candidates
Not all business models are ideal for every individual. The Entrepreneur’s Source prides itself on the ability to match franchisors with individuals who work best with the established business model. Brand Manager Jason Miller shares the following examples of matching franchisors to ideal candidates, including:
- A home or sales-based business model would look for a proficient sales person and an influential networker
- A service-based business would look for an owner/operator type of individual, a very hands on person
- A multi-unit operation would be ideal for a hands-off investor who would oversee the big picture, but would leave the day-to-day details to managers, whom they oversee
“When considering any major life change, especially a career move or pursuing entrepreneurship, it’s crucial to start at the beginning and ask yourself ‘why,’” says Terry Powell, founder of The Entrepreneur’s Source. “Doing so will allow you to understand what possibilities are available and how to effectively refine your options in order to identify the best opportunity that will become your vehicle for success. We always ask prospective entrepreneurs: If you looked at your life a year from today, what has to have happened during that period—both personally and professionally—for you to be happy with your progress?”
