Victor Guy: A Mentoring Success Story
Victor Guy’s journey is a shining example of how effective mentorship can shape a young entrepreneur’s future. Growing up in a low-income area of Dallas, Victor’s early investment in Bitcoin, a form of digital cash, turned into a significant windfall. The financial boost opened doors for him, but it was mentorship from Mike Rocci, a Career Ownership Coach® with The Entrepreneur’s Source, that helped him discover his entrepreneurial path.
Rocci provided business advice and offered Victor a broader perspective on life and entrepreneurship. Mike helped Victor understand the value of investing in a business that could grow at his own pace, aligning with his personal and professional aspirations.
“Victor didn’t want to follow the path he’d seen other people in his neighborhood travel down,” Mike said. “He wanted to have his own business by the time he was 18 years old.”
Victor’s decision to launch a green and eco-friendly floor-cleaning business in Dallas was significantly influenced by the coaching process. Mike’s mentorship helped him navigate the complexities of starting and growing a business straight out of high school. This guidance was crucial in transforming Victor from a high school graduate into a confident business owner, steadily growing his customer base.
TES’s coaching goes beyond individual success stories like Victor’s. It represents a commitment to nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit in people from all walks of life. By focusing on personal goals and providing a supportive environment, TES coaches are helping to cultivate a new generation of entrepreneurs who are well-equipped to face the challenges of the business world.

About National Mentoring Month
National Mentoring Month was launched as a partnership by the Harvard School of Public Health and MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership. Held every January, the awareness campaign strives to amplify the power of mentoring programs. Having a mentor can raise confidence and improve communication, listening, and organizational skills. Research shows that mentors play a powerful role in providing young people with the tools to make positive choices, attend and engage in school, and reduce or avoid negative behaviors. Young people who have a mentor are 55% more likely to be enrolled in college and 78% more likely to volunteer regularly in their communities, according to MENTOR.
Each year since its launch in 2002, the campaign has enjoyed the strong support of the President and the United States Congress. Other well-known supporters include the late Maya Angelou, Clint Eastwood, Senator John McCain, Quincy Jones, General Colin L. Powell, Cal Ripken, Jr., and Usher.
